Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name. (Psalm 100:4)
It's the Lord's Day! So we rest and worship today. We rest from our daily labors in prayer, knowing that the Lord builds the house. We worship because the Lord is good, and his steadfast love endures forever.
Today is the day the Lord has made. How do we receive this gift?
- Look back on the last week. Thank him for mercies he has shown. Acknowledge and turn from sins in thought, word, and deed. Look to the Savior who paid for all your sins, and who gives you his righteousness.
- Look up to him today, giving praise with our hearts and lips. We gather with his people to re-focus our hearts on God. Let the worship service be for you a time of renewal. Let new love for Jesus spring up as you sing new songs, and hear the preaching of the Word.
- Look forward to the week ahead, with a renewed heart and a fresh beginning. Enter the week with new reserves of faith, hope, and love. Remember that the risen Christ lives in you, through the Holy Spirit.
