The Pastor Search Committee
The Pastor Search Committee (PSC) at Lake Baldwin Church plays a vital role in guiding the process of selecting our next pastor. Composed of committed members from various ages and spheres of life, the PSC is committed to discerning God’s will for our church and seeking a leader who aligns with our values and mission. This committee seeks to operate transparently and update our church regularly. Our goal is to find a pastor who will not only preach the Word but also shepherd our community with love and integrity.
Our Pastor Search Process
Our church is partnering with the trusted consultant, McGowan Global Institute (MGI), Four Phase Process to guide the work of our Pastor Search Committee (PSC). This proven framework—Preparation, Collection, Evaluation, and Selection—ensures a prayerful, thorough, and strategic approach as we seek God’s guidance in identifying our next senior pastor.
Preparation equips the PSC with tools to understand our church's values and vision, identifying qualities for the new pastor. In the Collection phase, the PSC seeks diverse candidates through the MGI database, networking, and applications. The Evaluation phase reviews resumes and sermons, conducts interviews, and engages in prayerful reflection for alignment with our mission. Finally, in the Selection phase, the PSC agrees on the best candidate for church affirmation.
Throughout, prayer emphasizes our commitment to stewardship and spiritual guidance in choosing our next senior pastor.

Our Prayer Initiative
The Pastor Search Committee invites our congregation to seek God’s guidance in selecting a new pastor! The theme for our prayer initiative is “Hold Fast,” inspired by Hebrews 10:19-25: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
We chose the theme of "Hold Fast" to remind us to remain steadfast in our faith. God is intimately aware of our church's current situation, which He foresaw. As we work, wait and hope, we can "Hold Fast" to His promises. During this time, we are also encouraged to "stir one another up to love and good works," "not neglecting to meet together," and "encouraging one another."
Acutely aware of our need for God in this process, He is the One who will sustain both the PSC and our congregation through this transition and will lead us to our next senior pastor. We believe this will be a time of flourishing for our church as we seek Him together and trust Him who is faithful.
