Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it--the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jeremiah 33:2-3)

Our theme for the August Prayer Initiative is "Call to Me." Call to God because he made the earth. Call to God because of the power of his name. Call to God because he said, "I will answer you." As we pray for the work of Lake Baldwin Church in anticipation of the fall, we acknowledge our dependence on God.

Take some moments to worship God as Creator.
Turn the affections of your heart to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who lived a life of prayer and dependence on the Father.
Acknowledge that we cannot serve him in our own strength.
Thank him for past mercies in your life, for faithful answers to prayer.
Are you carrying a weight? Ask for his grace to enable you to rest in Him.
Pray that God will do "great things" for his glory in the coming months.
Pick one area of church life that's on your heart, and pray for that.
